so my weekend was absolutely fantastic!!
Friday was amazing! I had brunch with timeblind at Alegria (where we both used to work). We saw one of our old regular customers, and it was nice. he and i chatted for a bit (because i knew him a bit better than she did), and i made sure i said bye to him before i left for my Hot Oil Aromatherapy massage.
omfg. seriously. seriously. seriously. best massage i've ever had in my life.
Ok, so its the only PROFESSIONAL massage i've had in my life, but dear lord, it was utterly amazing. I was pretty much silent the whole way through, and she worked my left shoulder (the one that clicks when i rotate it) for a good 10 mins. Even SHE noticed how tight i was up in my shoulders.
So basically, i was a melty puddle of goo for an hour as she gave me my massage. I'm probably going to go back in a couple months for another one, it was that good. I think i can justify the $100+ for a good pamper. it was so heavenly. i think i deserve it. i KNOW i deserve it =D
After that, I had sushi with Peanut (as he texted me and asked if we could go while i was in my massage). We went to what used to be Koi (the place that he loved the most) but now is Happy Sushi. The place has changed a bit, and they took away some of his favourite things, but it was ok. He was a little disappointed, but he's a Sushi Nomad, and now he has to find us a new place to go from now on. That is his mission.
Anyway, after sushi he dropped me off atthe mall so I could hang out with timeblind some more. I bought some leggings and a cute summer dress (purple!!), then we got our eyebrows done, went to London Drugs so she could buy a fan, and after that, we got ice cream. so good.
She drove me home, and about 20 mins later, goldenrockstar picked me up for dinner! We went to Moxies and the food was yummy! (i had chicken penne alfredo, and he had steak, and we shared a Prawn appetizer). His ex-roommate's GF works there, so she came by and we got a mini dessert! White Chocolate Blondie - SOOOOOOO DELISH!! I only had half my dinner since i was still kind of full from sushi and ice cream.
After dinner we went to True Confections where I got us dessert (Chocolate Banana Cream pie for me, Boston Cream Cake for him) as he got us dinner, then we went back to his place, where i made him watch the Pilot of Misfits. I still love that show, btw. After that, we were going to watch the pilot for Breaking Bad, but he wanted to watch something a little lighter, so we watched Lucky Number S7evin, which I quite enjoyed. I didn't recognize most of the movies that were previewed, but thats ok. Lucky Number S7evin was really good. I might have to get it at some point.
As drewbie drove me home, we got into the conversation about if he won $50 million dollars. He asked if I would go to Mexico that night if he asked, and i said no because of work, so then he had to rearrange all his plans just to get me to go (he changed the location from Mexico to New Zealand {because i don't want to be anywhere TOO hot} and he'd pay my work for the time i would miss, and possibly for a replacement for me while i was gone, AND i'm allowed to take 3 friends). I asked him WHY he'd want me to go with him if he had to do all these things for me, but we're bffs and i'd probably do the same for him.
Somehow the conversation got really weird and it went from travelling to playing a world wide game of Where's Waldo, to being on a giraffe looking for waldo, then looking for waldo in certain situations like in the books (ie at a museum, on a city block, at the zoo), and how if someone told Drew that Waldo LOVED giraffes that he would come racing out if he saw one, would it be cheating, to finding me a really hot guy but sounded like Gilbert Godfrey (Iago from Aladdin). Then somehow it went to the Ultimate Man Party with strippers and brandy and sports and cigars and leather chairs... yeah, thats when i ended the conversation and went to bed (we talked in the car in front of my building for an hour about all of this).
Saturday my sister and I went boating with Sarah and her dad. We got to Sarah's around 11, had some coffee, watched some songs from Glee, then we booked it to her Mom&Dad's house. Sarah and her Dad got the boat all ready and hooked it to the back of his car, while Mares and I stayed out of the way.
We went by the Planetarium to launch the boat, and from there we went along passed North Van, and we went to Keats Island to a place called Plumper Cove which is a Provincial park. We docked there for a few hours, had lunch (subway which we got beforehand), played name that tune with sarahs dad, and then he went to read in the shade for a while and me and the girls just chilled on the boat with our feet in the water. I decided that I needed to find a man with a boat. Or when Drew wins his $50 million, he needed to buy me a yatch with a Captain. But i loved being on the water like that, and I need a boat, and a man to go with it
Around 530-6ish we left, and we went by Gibson Island, then made our way back to where we started, Sarah and Keith hooked the boat back up, and we all had dinner together at Keith's place. He bbq'd chicken while we cooked noodles and chopped veggies for a platter.
After dinner we went back to Sarah's and hung out there til about 1am with the boys - we played Wii Bowling (boys vs girls). It was a great night.
Sunday I woke up and got ready to go to Squamish for some awesome grilled cheese sandwiches. I picked up some coffee for drew and i on my way to his place, as he was driving. So he was just finishing getting ready and the rest of the crew was downstairs (because i guess we were going to be a convoy), except why take 2 cars when you could take 1? Kieran was driving Jenn and Kyle in Jenn's car, so Drew and I piled in and off we went. Partway through the trip i got tired of listening to the boys and listened to my ipod for a bit (i was on a Lady Gaga kick), and Jenn did the same. We got to Grilled Fromage, and I had the Cheese and Chong (aged cheddar, bacon and dill pickles. OMG so delicious!!)
After lunch we found a liquor store, bought some booze, and headed to Cat Lake. It was busy, but we found a nice spot in a little grassy area in front of the dock, so we chilled there for a bit, tanning. Then everyone went in the water, except for me, because i just wanted to tan. I got a crazy tan the day before from being on the boat (got a tiny tiny tiny burn on my back, but it didn't hurt, it was just dark/red-ish) so i wanted to work on my front. After an hour or so everyone got out of the water to dry, we had a few more drinks, then around 5 decided to pack up as we had a surprise BBQ party to go to. Jenn drove as she didn't want Peanut driving her car if was drinking, so I got to sit in the front seat!
We raced back to Drews so that I could pick up my car, and I raced back home to take a shower, as it was 630 and we were due at the party for 7-715. So i got home, took a quick shower, and raced over to Darin's place. I was the second person there - one of his friends from high school was there before me. Well, i guess i was the third person there, as Christina was there first, but she was organizing it. So about 10 mins later, the crew i had been with all day showed up, as well as a few of Darin's other friends, and we TOTALLY surprised him. He had no idea. It was awesome.
so i hung out there for a while, chilling with my friends (Steve and Victoria, and Smarks were there as well), then around 10 my gang left, so I went with them.
But yes. Last weekend was incredible. I had so many good times, and i loved the people i was with.
And i'm totally looking forward to THIS weekend when i'm in kelowna with my family. its a girls weekend, and we're going to go see Iron Man 2. Yes, i've already seen it, but my aunt hasn't and that's all that matters.
OOH, im also going to go see Predator tomorrow with a buddy from work!! so i'm excited about that.
but yes. Friday. Going to Kelowna. Good times will ensue. I can't wait to see the fam again.
