My weekend, thus far, has been amazingly awesome. Friday night went to Phantom, which was so very good. We got to our seats and I was looking around for people I knew, and Brett and Rachel were the row behind me about ten seats over. Waved, but no luck. Walked over at intermission and he looked over my head for a minute or so before Rachel saw me and said hi. The show was wicked good, wonderful cast, beautiful set. As a techie I cannot even concieve of how that set was built, but it was so freaking cool. I want it. I want it all...
So second act, met up with Julia and Carl at intermission. And Carl, because he is a wonderful person, agreed to switch seats with me. So I got to sit five rows from the front. I could see the actor's faces! Big grin on my face for the rest of the night. And lots of giggling. And I'm now obliged to name my first child after Carl. Or buy him skittles or something. Whatever.
Today was almost as good. Well not really. It was more painful, but the end made up for it. With Julia, Nick, Carl, and Gwen went snowboarding for the first time ever. Never been on a mountain before and it was lovely. I fell, a lot. And I'm going to be feeling it tomorrow, but right now I'm still all bouncy. It was crazy! Most of the time I was on the very small bunny hill falling over and snowplowing down, because I was terrified of anything else. So they kept trying to drag me up the lift and I finally agreed to go up about twenty minutes before the mountain closed. It was probably the smallest trail on the mountain and we were up there for about forty minutes. Because it was baby steps, very slow moving. This nice ski guy who worked there was helping me down and they were kind of walking me down. So finally after a rather long time we got to the last stretch, where it came out in this open area. And the whole way down I'd been trying to avoid going straight, because you go really fast. So entirely accidentally I pulled my board straight for the last part of the incline, and I didn't fall! Went incredibly fast and scared myself silly, but I managed to stop. Fell over after I stopped, but it was intentional. So I'm happy.
Then we went to McDonald's, got changed, got ice cream, came home, went to Julia's house, watched Men in Tights (which I was rather disappointed by, considering how much people rant about how good it is), then came to my real home and wrote this. So my weekend, thus far, has been lovely. Hopefully there will be no scary encounters with the god woman tomorrow. I know I shouldn't call her that, but she's so scary...
