I'm writing Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty as a character in the RPG
The Establishment, over on JournalFen. From the Est's profile:
The Establishment is a role playing game which takes place in and around an underground, international organization devoted to bdsm culture. The characters are for the most part celebrities. Needless to say every entry

I don't know if that Peanut person had a website or not. There were a lot of stories, kind of chronological if I remember correctly, including a couple of real long ones all intertwined with each other. A lot of it focused on his runaway years, but then got into his life with the band. They were very descriptive and they read more like novels. I think you'd like them. There was one long one that focused on the tension between Rob and Paul when Paul was threatening to quit the band back in 1998 that I really liked. Pretty mild stuff compared to this RPG/slash stuff but one or two stories involved a fictional (I guess!) male character and that was very, um, interesting. I don't think I have any saved, but if you ask around the RT board, someone might still have them. A lot of people there swear they have a lot of truth in them. I doubt that, but they are a good read. If I do find any, I can send them to you if you just tell me where.
Thanks for the meta link to the Mark B stuff. I'm still trying to figure out how all this works, but it's very interesting to read. On another note, do you have any Rob/Paul fic and if so, where can I read it?

Yes and no on wanting to take control; part of the point for playing him in an RPG instead of simply creating my own story is that it's a lot of fun to interact with other writers and their characters and see what shakes loose. The inability to truly predict what'll happen is a big part of the appeal. :D Meta is essentially character interaction that takes place offstage and thus does not count as an official part of the character's in-game story arc. It's sort of an elaborate writing exercise, and you can find out some fascinating things about your character that can help you figure out what to do with them in-game.
I have three Rob/Paul drabbles, which are 100 word fics: More; Smoker's Cough; and Breaking Me In. I also have a fairly long fic featuring Rob/Billie Joe Armstrong, which is pretty much my prototype character for Est!Rob, Downtown Whore.
