Before the last notes sounded for the second time, Rob had moved to the piano.
“Again.”
They jammed slowly, Rob learning as Paul played his song over and over; the ivories’ resonance lent an ethereal beauty that elevated the music into another realm.
Rob turned around, eyes shimmering with emotion. “Paul. It belongs on the album.” At the double-take, he added, “You’re so much more than you think you are, Doucette. Fucking gorgeous.”
