mockingbird39 is gone. :-( We kept talking in the airport so long that all of a sudden she had 15 minutes til boarding and hadn't gone through security yet (oops), and boom she left. *le sigh*
Gonna go eat something and then crash for a while. We were up at the crack of dawn to head out to Sugar Moon Farm this morning. It's a working maple syrup farm with an onsite restaurant and store, about an hour and a half drive out from the city. We had a massive pancake breakfast and did the demos and ate some snow-taffy. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, it's maple syrup boiled to the soft ball stage of candymaking and then poured onto clean snow. You wait about 30 seconds and then roll a popsicle stick in the ribbon of taffy, and it forms into a chewy lollipop around the stick. OMFG sooooooooo goooooooood. Also about the biggest sugar high imaginable, lol. After the first bite (it takes forever to chew and the taste lingers for ages), Mel said that somewhere, her dentist was cringing and didn't know why. Not a treat you'd want a lot of, or often, but damn is it wonderful. And it was an excellent way to end off a fantastic weekend. (More on that later.)
Meh. I hate this part; back home by myself in silence. Pretty much the only time we didn't spend talking, we were either asleep or eating, or the music was too loud when we were out. And my mother thinks I don't talk enough! Hee.
