Update

I was requested last weekend to update my LJ, so here goes.

Work: very, very busy, as always. 1 AM pages are sooooo fun. I won't bore anyone with the details, because really, it requires too much explanation.

Home: the kiddo is doing great, walking better and better, talking more, and usually cracking B & I up at least twice (or more) an hour. The Dude is her best friend (not sure he feels the same way, though she does provide tasty food bits, because, obviously, we don't feed him enough), horror-show Elmo her current favorite stuffed animal (horror-show Elmo is what you get when the Dude takes out his frustration on Elmo--he only has one eye now), she still hates naps, and she wants to eat grown-up food as much as possible.

My Dad ended up in the ER again yesterday, but fortunately he didn't get admitted to the hospital again. My handy-dandy access to the computer system allowed me to tell my mom that the ER wasn't busy, which helped convince my dad to actually go. Otherwise, he would have complained for a week, finally gone, and then spent several nights in the hospital. This way, they just pumped him full of IV Lasix and he got to come home after two hours. At least with CHF, they always take him right in--no waiting. Always remember to compain of chest pain or shortness of breath if you want to be seen right away in the ER.

I also just found out my cousin (who I haven't spoken to in many, many years) just got arrested by the Feds and extradited to Tennessee to face Federal drug traffiking charges. Yes, he was apparently a marijuana king-pin, supplying people from his home in Tucson. What an idiot.

SCA: I am currently very frustrated by the actions of a member of my peerage order. How can people be such asses? How can they have such (un-warranted) high opinions of themselves? It makes me so mad that people cannot be gracious and thankful for favors done for them without being a-holes about it. Sigh.

Also on the SCA front, I have completely fallen down in my duties as Laurel secretary and I still haven't finished the minutes from the last meeting. Maybe tonight . . . At least I finally turned over the Gyldenholt Chronicler stuff to my successor, who will do a much better job than I ever did.

I'd like to start sewing so we all have clothes for GWW, but finding the time and motivation is difficult. It is much easier to play with the kiddo, play with the Dude, read a book, or play computer games. I really need to get motivated. Anyone have any suggestions?

I think that's it for now.
