How sad is it that I saw a bunch of friends yesterday, and not one (except gottasing) noticed that I had cut all my hair off (the shortest it has been in over 20 years), yet today, when I show up at work, tons of people comment on the new 'do? Brian says it is because I spend too much time at work and not enough with my friends, so of course the work people noticed. Sigh. What a sad commentary on my social life!
Vacation was very good. The first 5 days were very restful. We went to Santa Barbara first and just noodled around, ate great food, shopped, and relaxed. Then we went to Cambria and spent much quality time vegging out and reading. We also bought some whimsical art for the house. Brian gave me very nice anniversary gifts (yes, plural, because he forgot to give me a gift last year, so I got two this year!) and we had a lovely dinner. Then we drove home, hurridly packed, and left for New York the next day. New York was OK. It was hot and humid, but it was nice to see the in-laws. We also got to have lunch with my brother, who we don't see nearly enough. I even managed to calm down and get over my "gotta plan everything" mode, and go with the flow (which one really needs to do with Brian's family). The trip was fun, but not restful. Plus, the chicklet was a pill on the flight home, but what do you expect from an almost one-year-old?
Came home, did laundry, hung out, then ran the Laurel meeting yesterday. First time I've ever been to one that ended by 3:30. Way to go us! It helps when the Crown is friendly and cool. . . Still, there were those who we could have lived without.
Back to work now, not too much of a mess, but I do have to go spend the next two days in Woodland Hills for our next hospital go-live. That's no fun.
