“How are you gonna move on?”

He’s been looking over the other guy for quite some time. Mesmerized by a view in front of him. Inoo stood there, held his bottle of Pepsi, as the wind blew softly on his slight perm hair. He wanted to spend his rest time on rooftop though, and he’s supposed to do that. But all parts of the plan ruined away because there’s someone claimed the place earlier than him.

Takaki Yuya was lying on the floor, and the sunlight caught the brunet in his hair. He had on this uniform, messy buttons, and also pulled off the sleeve until his elbow. All of the things are coordinated well making him looks terribly cool. The sky’s bright color seeped through him, and his glittering face revealing constantly. He’d been nothing but staying like that, solitude and picturesque, like a paint of someone’s art project.

Maybe they aren’t that close together. Maybe Inoo isn’t one of Takaki best friends who typically known as school’s trouble makers. But for Inoo, Takaki Yuya isn’t unfamiliar. Because ever since then, he had settled his eyes on the guy. Because even when he hadn’t realized everything, he’d already given full shits of Takaki.

The tan-skinned guy has wonderful smile. A small laughter with childish shape. A silent charm. And a soft heart behind that scary face. Which were some of the little facts Inoo’d encountered at time he studied about the guy. He’d done so much of observing Takaki. But the look on his eyes, the way he stares blankly at the sky right now snapped Inoo into a realization.

He doesn’t look happy.

He looks exhausted.

He looks terrible.

He looks…. brokenhearted.

Inoo thought of the reason at first, and a way to cheer up the older guy. But then a sudden friendly greet won’t work on Takaki. It’ll make him look stupid, it’ll be a cold joke because Inoo’s pretty sure that isn’t what Takaki needs right now. And they aren’t on the stage where Inoo is obliged to humoring Takaki in the very first place. He should just run away, leave the spot, before Takaki caught him off-guard. But then before it could happen, their eyes already meet each other.

“Inoo?” Takaki frowned, rose from his current position.

Inoo’s still there, not knowing what to do or where to go. He could feel everything strained inside of him, like his chest clutched so tightly when Takaki looked at him that way, and he couldn’t let even a word to escape.

“I’m sorry.” Inoo started. “Don’t mind me. I’ll just go back now.” He promised.

As Inoo is halfway to turn around, unexpectedly, there is a pair of hands slam the door behind him. Takaki had blocked Inoo’s only way to step out. At first, Inoo thought he was imagining it. Because there’s no excuse for Takaki to keep him by his side. But then it was real. Takaki did really just cut his access to run off. Without he quite knowing why.

“I wanna ask you something.” Takaki said, and the words overwhelmed Inoo just like how Takaki always gives trouble for him.

“Me?”

“Yeah.”

He doubted. But then recovered himself pretty quick. “Go on with your question.”

“Well….” Takaki drew for a deep breath, and he looks like a lost boy in his own misery. “How are you gonna move on?”

Inoo furrowed his brows together, looked around, confused. Because somehow this question is just out of sync. He’s quite sure of him not being the rightest person to answer such hard question. Because he’d never thought of move on as well, or else why would he keep eyeing Takaki Yuya if he knows how to handle that? But then he realized, Takaki needs an answer, and Inoo tried to come up with something realistic.

“Move on? If it’s relationship problem, then maybe I could find for another person. Maybe I’ll try to love someone else.”

“It sounds easy when you said that.”

“Well I know, maybe the reality will be hard. Especially if you do love that previous someone. But everything happens for a reason, if it’s the time that I have to leave him, then maybe I’ll get the better one in the future. I can’t guarantee that as well, it’s complicated, but that’s the most effective way to move on.”

Takaki stared at Inoo for more than five seconds. And the ball of nerves lodged itself in Inoo’s stomach. He’d wondered if he’d been saying stupid things, or acting over-confidence. And if he did something wrong, there’s no way out.

“I wish move on could be that simple.”

Inoo’s still silent.

“I found myself different.” Takaki let out a small broken smile. “And I know I love Shohei, my very best friend. But then yesterday he told me he has a girlfriend. And I should pretend to be happy for him. It was bullshit, right?”

Inoo could feel all the butterflies dead inside. It’s the first time he heard that Takaki loves someone else, who’s totally not him. Well, it doesn’t mean he expected Takaki to love him either. But the sensation of his confession is something that he couldn’t put off of his mind. He bites his lower lip, doesn’t even know which one has the sharpest effect, him being sad because Takaki looks massively horrible, or him being sad because Takaki is his personal heartbreaker. He glanced down to hide his disappointment, to control his stinging heartbeat. But then suddenly his left shoulder becomes heavy, and Takaki’s brunet blade touched his cheek in a small gesture.

“But….” Takaki speaks, barely audible.

“………………………..”

“You love me, right?”

“………………………..”

“You love me, right, Inoo?”

Takaki repeated such question, like he wanted to make sure Inoo won’t miss the real interpretation he intended to say. And there’s nothing Inoo could do instead of frozen in time, letting Takaki hugs him tightly. He hadn’t realized his Pepsi already fallen to the floor, because it doesn’t matter anymore. None of those are matters when he figured out the meaning of Takaki’s statement. It wasn’t a question, it was a proclamation. Don’t leave me, is what Takaki trying to say.

And he’s just being so cruel. Inoo is fully acknowledged that Takaki uses him, that Takaki traps him because he’s in demand for someone. Someone whom he knows will give whole concern to him, someone whom he knows head over heels to him. It was a huge stupid mistake, Inoo knows, but then the thrill of Takaki begs him and wraps him into his arms feels like a great dream comes true. And then instead of being smart like he’d always be, Inoo thinks it’s okay for him being dull for this time.

“It’s easy, Takaki. I can manage that.” He declared.

There was a moment of silence, before Inoo slowly climbs his hands to circle around Takaki’s broad back. Caressing him up and down, giving courage, unspoken promise. The grateful sense of being able to own Takaki hadn’t faded yet. It’s okay to be like this for a while, because Takaki had asked him himself.

He could feel the brunet guy smiles without even looking at his face. As a sign of relief flew through his warm embrace. And he didn’t particularly care if this is a messy way to start everything between them. Because that was life, where in your plan isn’t exactly the reality that happens to you.

---END---

Finally after more than a month, I come up with takanoo fic. I miss them a ton I wanna cry as I always nag all of you about how I’m desperate for this couple DX But I am sorry, I lost all my sense to write, and this one turned out horrible, ugly, and what’s with the ending it’s such a cliffy. I forget how to write, I forget how to work on paragraphs, I’m so disappointed with myself /crying/ takanoo I hate them so much <3
