I've come to realize that I prefer talking to people face to face than talking to them online. There are less things to compete with for their attention in real life than on the internet. And sometimes when you run into someone that you haven't seen in a while in real life it's easier to go up to them and say hey, than it is to randomly message that same person that you always see online. There's always people online in my chat list but I settle for waiting to interact with them only if they post a funny status update or something that I can comment on because I don't know what else to talk to them about.
