our halloween party saturday was a success despite some piece of shit (i HOPE this turns out not to be one of our friends) stealing 2 girls' wallets. katie still made herself have fun regardless and laurel didn't notice til after she left. i'm pretty pissed about that, but they're gonna catch the person who did it anyway, as they used laurel's card in wawa which has 24 hour cameras. but anyway... a LOT of people showed up. a good 40 or 50 i'd guess. most of whom were our friends, but some people brought extras. most people dressed up too, and those who didn't had to wear silly foam masks i got haha. we had a lot of fun with the food and preparation. of course my house looks halloweenish year round, but we added some cool stuff to it. rachel and i stayed up late the night before making cute halloween sugar cookies and dirt cake. we got a lot of fun pictures from the party, which i haven't uploaded into anything yet. my sister had a ton too, as well as other people who were at the party. i was pretty impressed with the costumes, everyone did an awesome job. and we got to see some people we haven't seen in a long time. no one got too drunk, didn't make too big of a mess, and the cops didn't get called. i'd call that a success! there were still some people over at 2:30am and we were still having fun but we had to call it a night because it was getting so late and i had to go to work the next day.
plato had his follow-up appt today. everything looked great as far as she could tell, we will get the blood test results within 48 hours. she gave me some smaller needles to see if that makes a difference for his fluids. she also said he didn't look terribly dehydrated, despite not having done his fluids successfully in 2 weeks, so i don't need to stress if he won't let me do it. she said just try twice a week, and whatever he lets me do is good, but don't worry if he's not getting all he's supposed to. they gave him fluids for me and brushed out all the mats that he got in his fur. i am SO happy they did that, he gives me such a hard time with brushing. he looks all fluffy and full of life today haha, so cute.
over the weekend josh and billy went camping and brought their 5 month old puppy, abby with them. billy dropped the leash and abby ran away. they still haven't found her. they are absolutely heartbroken and trying every way they can think of to find her. they put up flyers all over the area and at the shelters. now they just have to hope she runs into some honest people.
nick contacted richie and i a few days ago. we decided to hear him out. although we still have our guards up and are not completely letting him back into our lives yet, i'm glad to hear what he's saying. he doesn't have that arrogant presence about him anymore. he seems more like the nick i met 3 years ago and wanted to be friends with. he's been hospitalized and been to rehab, and has learned a lot. he's been treated for his eating disorder, depression, and other psychological issues. he knows what he's done in the past was wrong and apologized for it. it's hard to explain how i know it's not bullshit this time (i had a feeling it was bullshit the other times), but it seems legitimate. despite all of his faults and past problems, i have always felt deep down that he is a good person. he just let his ego take over and let himself become too impulsive. he hit rock bottom by becoming homeless and having not one person left to call. that's got to be pretty humbling. he cut his hair, took out all his piercings, and toned down his appearance overall. he even said he wants nothing to do with dating until he gets his life to where he wants it to be, which is weird coming from a guy whose quest not so long ago was to see how many girls he could sleep with. he's living with a family friend he's known since he was a kid. that was the only person who would help him out. i hope it's for real this time, i really do. we haven't seen him for a year, so he's had a lot of time to change. this is it though. i want to see him succeed. at one time he was one of the best friends i had.
