this morning heather and i took plato to the vet to learn how to do the subcutaneous fluids. it was actually a lot easier than i thought it would be! i was really scared to have to poke him with a needle, but it went through his scruff easily and he didn't give too much resistance. mostly he didn't wanna be told he had to sit still. the fluids make him lumpy though! they said that's normal, the fluid tends to sit under the skin that way as it is absorbed into the body. last night breanna helped me give him his pills by wrapping him in a blanket and placing them far back in his tongue and keeping his mouth closed til we saw him swallow. that went over surprisingly well too. it's been damn near impossible to give him pills any other way. he's too smart, he knows they're there if they're in his treats or food. also, the liquid medicine he's been getting was making him throw up, so the vet said give him half the dosage of before and see what happens. so far so good.

he's feeling really good today, i can tell. he's been my little shadow, following me around and having me pet him as often as possible. he's never really been that way, he's a free spirit cat, the type that does just fine by himself and only wants attention under his circumstances. he's more affectionate now than before he was sick. i think he must know that the things we're doing are to make him feel better, and he appreciates it.

we had some extra time before heather had to go to work after the appointment, so we started decorating the house for halloween! still a few things left, but it makes me happy to see it. richie and i are most likely gonna go to party city and possibly other halloween stores on thursday to see what we can do about costumes.

haven't really been doing much else besides that. nothing's going on, and it's pretty much fine with us. sitting around relaxing is fine.
