work rant

today was ridiculously busy at work. not really surprising, since it's saturday, and one of the first nice days of spring. i was completely booked today, and one of my annoying clients (not saying my clients are normally annoying but this one can be) wouldn't take "she's booked" for an answer. she asked rachel in every way possible if i could fit her in anywhere, and rachel isn't an idiot so she can look at my book and tell if i'm gonna have time anywhere, which i didn't, and she told the lady. then she tried to get rachel to get me on the phone, and she couldn't understand that i was in the middle of doing a color and i can't come to the phone. i have plenty of appointments open for tomorrow, but no, you gotta call the day of and get all shitty when you can't get in even though "i've been coming there for years". that's just such a bad attitude to have, and it's not the first time i've heard people say that either. just because you've been coming for years doesn't mean all the other appointments disappear and you get to come in whenever you want. if you've been coming for years you should know how busy stylists/nail techs/whatever get and that you need to call earlier. it's like people think that i don't need to eat or anything, i can work like a machine! all day long with not even a 10 minute break, because i could be fitting you in there. that and that attitude implies that you're more important than other customers who are paying for my time, customers who made appointments. tons of people shocked by the fact that there's an hour wait for pedicures today too. omg the first nice saturday of the year and other people want pedicures today too? imagine that! think people, think!
