(no subject)
the last few days have been fantastic. i had to go to court outside ocean city for my speeding ticket on tuesday, so we left monday night after work. we didn't get there til almost 3am, and the guy at the front desk at the fenwick inn couldn't get the computer to work, and i had already made my reservation on orbitz, so he just took us to whatever room appeared to be available. we opened the door and were confused because it didn't look like it had a bed. that was because it was a HUGE 2 room suite with a living room area, 2 bathrooms, and the bed in a completely separate room. he said it was fine for us to stay there for the amount we had paid online (normal room rate) and they might make us move the next night if it was a problem. they never ended up making us move.
next morning had to go to court. i was sooooo nervous about it. i even picked out an outfit to cover my tattoos, which wasn't easy in 90+ degree weather. i went to court in long pants and a hoodie. felt like i was gonna pass out from the heat, but i figured it was more important not to offend a possibly conservative judge. when i got in there i realized apparently no one else cared too much about appearance. there were a lot of people there too. there were 3 cops there and i was trying to figure out which one had pulled me over. i couldn't read the name on the ticket but it didn't look like any of the names on their badges. everyone was called individually in order, and the judge was fairly lenient with people who didn't have bad records. the judge mentioned that officer corbin wasn't coming to court today because he was in training. i was pretty sure that was the guy who pulled me over but i wasn't sure. the judge got halfway through the people in the room and then said "everyone else here, this is your lucky day. you were all ticketed by officer corbin, who is unable to come in today. any minor tickets we will be forced to throw out." there were like 20 of us who got off completely. we just had to wait for our names to be called, then given the paperwork that says we are not charged and we owe $0. i was so happy!
after that we went to the dough roller and got some sandwiches and yummy pizza for later. took a nap, then once we woke up it had gotten really foggy out, it was very strange looking. then went to the arcade. it was CRAZY on the boardwalk. i'm not used to being there in the peak of tourist season. madness. we got to play skeeball and the other game we always play where you try to make the ball land in the hole with the most tickets. still saving up our tickets to get the super mega prize, whatever that is. we just wanna see how many we can get haha. then we got thrasher's fries and dumser's ice cream. all the best stuff in ocean city!
when we woke up in the morning it was rainy so we just left. we also avoided going swimming on the hotel pool because there were too many people there. i just hate being around lots of people like that. it's annoying. i can't wait til it's a little more off season. getting away always makes me feel better though. my back has definitely hurt a lot less.
