Blast off!

So this is my list of to-do's for this evening:
  1. Read the two Economic History articles!
  2. Study for French!
  3. Clean up my room
  4. Review some Japanese
  5. Sleep before 12:00 AM
And this is the tentative agenda for tomorrow:
  1. Wake up at 7:30 AM. Get out of bed by 8:00 AM.
  2. Clean the house
  3. Study in the library or not in my room
  4. Go home to pack
Today was relatively productive. I stayed in the school library to finish some homework and to find a French book that I could follow. I bought the three month version online but it's hard to study by that because the text is not in my hands. It turns out, the library has no such French text book so I got side tracked and borrowed out the Japanese text book instead! Let me tell you, I feel like I am breezing through this! I was studying through that Japanese book for two hours! TWO HOURS! I'm going to try to study Japanese at the same time as French; that way, I can try to take a Japanese placement test and skip Japanese 1. Hopefully I can juggle all these plans and still reach my goal of STRAIGHT A's!

Yesterday I started this proposal to change; to learn about me. On the list of things I know about myself, I said "I plan to take elementary Japanese next quarter." And today, I went out to study a whole chapter of some Japanese text in the library. This is not some spur of the moment sort of decision. In fact, from second grade, I remember always wanting to learn this language. But for some reason I never took the first step to learning it seriously. Recently, I have watched through many youtube videos and I got inspired again. MyHusbandisJapanese, MelodeeMorita, PolyglotPal, MissHanake, Apn9a, and kanadajin3 all have become my inspiration to try to pick this language up. With the exception of Melody, none of these individuals have a background in Japanese and yet, they are able to speak, think, and breath Japanese. If they, foreigners to Japan, can learn japanese on their own and become practically fluent, I don't see any reason why I can't as well. Sure they may have an aptitude towards learning languages but I just have to work harder. to be fluent, even semi-fluent in Japanese, is another goal I want to reach in my near future.
Good luck!
加油!
頑張って!
Bonne Chance!
