Guild Wars Update

Guild Wars has had a massive update!
1)  Embark Beach -- allows players to meet in one area, with access to all campaigns, knowing where the group is capable of going to, mission-wise.
2)  Zaishen Vanquish -- considering my sister and the Sunday Crew are doing vanquishes (kill everything in a region), this will give an incentive and bonus for doing ( Read more... )

Not sure I approve of the Survivor change. Sorta cheapens it for the people who already accomplished the neigh-impossible, but such is the deal with achievements.

Embark Reach sounds useful. Wish that functionality were added to the guild hall.

Higher hero cap won't affect me much, but I'm glad to see it. Not sure what the Zaishen Vanquish is exactly yet.

And... you have to buy slots to have your characters play mercenary hero? Ah. Well... I see...

1) It is still bloody hard. You need to gain the amount of XP you would normally get for survivor. Actually, what surprised me is that now characters who remain in Pre-Searing can get Legendary Defender AND Survivor at the same time.

2) Once you get the location, you can get there directly from the Guild Hall -- as per the Menagerie.

3) Zaishen Vanquish is just like the other Z-Missions. Each day they pick a region for you to vanquish. If you do it, you get Z-Coins, extra reputation / faction if it is in the right area, bonus XP, and bonus gold.

4) Yeah. Only have to do the one purchase though, and registered characters can be used by all your other characters. Kind of neat, actually.

One purchase... per slot? Is a slot "one specific character assigned for mercenary duty" or "one mercenary (whichever character you pick) that can be in your party at a time?"

You can buy one slot, three slots (I think), or a full set. When you assign a character to a slot, all other characters you possess can 'recruit' that character as a hero. If you only have the one slot, only that one character can be recruited.
