Knock On Wood

I've sent my drive to FutureShop to see if they can fix it.  They quoted $60 for a diagnostic (rather than the initial quote of $200), and they'll let me know by Tuesday / Wednesday (since tomorrow's a holiday).  If they can access the data, they'll call me up, and I can go down there with my new (2TB) external hard drive, and they'll throw everything on it.  I'll get charged for this (about $200 or so) of course, but that's okay.  If they can't... then I have to go elsewhere, and by "elsewhere" I mean "someplace charging me $1000 or so".  Fortunately... (sort of)... someone is willing to help cover all these expenses, but I'm hoping we'll hit the cheap route, not the oh my god route.  Wish me good luck.

In other news...
Gerald is going to be possibly trying a new D&D campaign.  He'd mentioned wanting to use a new world he'd thought of, and since Cat's character and my character gone with the wind, I guess we can try this campaign out.  We'd all be 1st level (and this has my sister annoyed... she'd just made a new character for Gerald's campaign, and her concept doesn't work for 1st level due to template), so we'll see what happens.  I may play Frost, I don't know.

My nWoD campaign is now on hold -- since my list of NPCs is gone.  And their character sheets.  And everything else.  I may run something else, I could do Shadowrun, since I now have a whole slew of shiny new Shadowrun books.  That could be nice.  I'm curious as to what kind of campaign to run... I've a ... oooh, that might work.  (I love typing stream-of-thought).

If I do a new Shadowrun campaign, I could set it in Trois Portes (essentially, the Fool's Moon universe).  Have it be 'straight' Shadowrun, but with the usual Trois Portes twist to it.  If I do that, the PCs could be agents working for Chase Securities (a AAA megacorp).  That could be... actually kind of cool.  It would fit rather well, actually.

*grins at the idea of Chase being a spike baby*

The Scion game of course, is toast.  All the NPCs and notes for that are gone, and of course, Cat's character is gone as well.  I could in theory try to pick up, but I'd need to try to rebuild Cat's character from scratch, and that's not fun.  I could in theory look into another game for alternate Sundays.  I'd have to think about it.

In fact, perhaps we could do Shadowrun on Sundays, and see what comes of that.  It would still make me wonder what to do for Wednesdays... perhaps Gerald's D&D game could go weekly.

And of course, it means wondering what to do with the Monday game.  :\  Maybe I could run my Qin game then... not have it a Flux campaign, and just go with it.  We'll see.
