Symmetry
If you've every read The Books of Magic, take a close look at the second book. In a lot of ways, the series at the beginning is reminiscent of Harry Potter, but they're quite different when you get into it. But speaking of symmetry, if you try the Second Book of Magic, I suggest listening to Solsbury Hill as you read it. The song and the story have an incredible symmetry to them, the music sounds like it was written for the book.
