practically productive
I was more or less productive today. I fixed the bead swag that I tried to restring last night, and I think it actually came out a little prettier. I added some amber beads that I bought at Pennsic and got rid of the amber chips that I never liked that much. I also remade a couple of my older bead swags, removing some faceted glass beads and replacing them with semi-precious round beads -- it's a much more sophisticated look. And I made a swag to wear with the greyscale Viking outfit, out of hematite, freshwater pearls, smoky quartz, and black glass beads (which I might replace with jet, black amber, or black agate). It really looks elegant; I can't wait to wear it. I'm going to make another out of hematite, freshwater pearls, crystal quartz, cracked crystal quartz, and silver, as well. Having this first one done, though, gives me hope that this outfit will look really elegant, instead of merely cute.
As for the broken handle on my jewelry box, I might see if I can find a drawer pull that will work to replace it, as it's a real pain not having a handle of some sort; it's too big to pick up in my hand. I need to find my other one, as well; it will work well for daytrips.
And now, I think I'll put away my shiny pretty things and either continue to work on my clothing research or work on darkwolfie's cloak project. Tomorrow I'm having lunch with friends, then after I take darkwolfie to the train, I think I'll go to WalMart and get a few more things to get my workroom organized. I was thinking that I might get another set of drawers, but I think I'll bring in the folding bookcase that I used in college. I still need a portable closet, though, for garb, and I need to get some laundry done. Yay. X-P
