It looks like it will be a go -- I found six yards of white wool at
Martin's House of Cloth on the remnant table, and I just looked in one of my drawers, and I have two pieces of dark charcoal grey wool, one of which is easily 4 yards. So I have plenty of white to make my undergown and bears with, and maybe, hopefully, if I cut carefully, enough to make a tunic for
darkwolfie, onto which I will applique charcoal grey wolves.
I did get some fabric at Fabric Fix, too. I made an undertunic for myself out of some nice blue plaid linen, and didn't have enough to make the skirt quite as wide as I'd have liked, so I was pleased to find they still had some, and I bought enough to make some new gores. I also found some beautiful fine black wool; I think it's a challis. It's really light, though, and I think it's destined to be at least a tunic for Wolfie, and possibly an undergown for me.
And I just ordered some color cards from Halcyon Yarn for some silk and wool threads that I might be able to use to weave trim. I have some charcoal grey fiber that I might use to make embroidery thread, and I always have white, so I might try to spin enough to do the couching and detail embroidery. That's maybe a couple of evenings spinning; nothing major. Push comes to shove, I can use one of the wheels. I might actually try that first, and see if I can spin finely enough. two or three hours of spinning and plying is more efficient than a couple of days.
I'm excited now! Next I'll put together my bill of materials and what I have to do to get this party started, and then I can get to work!
