... unless i hear--in passing--more on the rumors about miami getting allen iverson or how lakers might get raja bell or shaun livingston. lakers got steve blake from the free agency and we still have kobe, gasol, artest (some psych help still required), odom (*gag kashidan), walton (*cough failure compared to his daddy), and etc.
anyways i read these articles on DEREK FISHER just minutes ago
http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-0713-lakers-derek-fisher-20100713,0,6291393.storyhttp://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Derek-Fisher-saying-no-to-Heat?urn=nba,255331&cp=6#comments3-YEAR CONTRACT FOR $10.5 MILLION!! (i still think its a huge pay cut compared to the $10 million for the last 2 years he got... [but im told by my bro that for someone whos 36 {"near the age of retirement" to quote bro} that's a good deal; and theres something about veterans minimum but i dont know the amount that is)
my opinion about other stuff relating to NBA:
miami heats--"all-star" team--is a hype; expectations are rise too high and a bandwagon has left boston to go to miami shows how wishy-washy east coast are for what teams to root for
lebron is supposedly the "king" but i predict he won't fulfill the greatness that is said of him. "we are all witnesses"? of what? the last 7 years in the pro and he doesn't have much to show. a media circus one-hour "special" called "the decision" (*cough more like advertisement and more hype)?
kobe and fisher have reached greatness, as a part of the lakers!!!
all who bashes fisher doesn't have respect for the game of professional basketball because they haven't witnessed (not like lebron james 'witness') an incredible player.
2010-2011 -> going for LAKERS 3-PEAT!!!
yeah, miami might have wade, bosh and james now but can they work well together in their first season playing together? the olympics were over 2 years ago and that are a different level and a different time than now.
teamwork is what takes a team to the playoffs and the finals; 3 players is not enough for a 5-player per team game that requires cooperation and efforts.
miami believes they have an all-star team but they are going to have to wait for a championship a few years because putting a few good players together won't immediately get the results they want. too many great players in one team can lead to egos being stepped on and clashes.
who forgot about the hype of shaq and wade? how that turn out?
history repeats itself from those who ignorantly don't learn from it.
