Weird little cat
Monzo's started up another old habit recently. For months and month he would always walk into the bathroom and start yowl-meowing for attention the second we sat down to eat. Now he's started doing it whenever he approaches me and tries to lead me to the kitchen, he'll detour to the bathroom to ma-yowl if I don't follow him. He'll come up to us and meow, making eye contact and will start trotting towards the kitchen and will stop and look back to see if we're following. I kid you not. He's been doing this all summer, mostly because we've been eager to feed him whenever he expresses a desire to eat. What's gotten annoying, though, are his fickle phases where there'll be three types of kibble out in bowls in the dining room and kitchen and we'll go into the kitchen, give him some canned food, he'll sniff it and walk away ma-yowling and the second we go back to what we were doing, he repeats the process. "Try again!," seems to be the message. If we don't, he heads straight into the bathroom with its nice hard surfaces and ma-yowls for the whole house (and I'm sure, the nextdoor ground-level neighbour) to hear.
He knows the vocalizing in the bathroom isn't cool, because if he hears us heading towards it when we hear him, he'll come trotting out at full speed. The more attention the little bugger gets, the more he demands. Silly kitty. Spoiled kitty.
