Okay, seriously? Have I not posted since December? That's just... sad.
I've been -- well, I'm not sure where I've been, really. What started out as a month or two of writer's block turned into an all-out fannish hiatus. I haven't checked my friends list in months. Hell, I even let my paid account expire (related: only six icons what is this madness).
But I knew, even then, that in the end fandom would always claw me back.
Speaking of which, who has two thumbs and has seen The Avengers five times in theatres? :D
Anyway, I've missed a lot in the last five months. Here's a small sample of what's been keeping me entertained:
BBC's Sherlock: My love for Mycroft is as glorious as it is completely irrational and, frankly, kind of hilarious given that this series marks the first time in the history of ever that Inspector Lestrade has actually been attractive. I mean, these people took the phrase "little sallow rat-faced, dark-eyed fellow" to mean "Rupert Graves with salt-and-pepper hair." I should be sending Steven Moffat a fruit basket right now, but noooo...
TL;DR: Dammit, Mycroft, stop making me love you when you basically only exist to make Stupid Decisions For Reasons of Narrative Convenience (tm). I love the look that you get when people around you are being stupid which is basically all the time.
World of Warcraft: It's a game I play, possibly more than I should, and for those aren't familiar with it I'll spare you the details. But I will say that back in February I rolled a new alt (a warlock, now 85) and shifted my focus from running randoms to watching the Auction House.
B.P.R.D.: So, The Long Death happened. Let's just say that Team Tartary Lamb is not particularly happy with how it turned out, though the events therein were probably a long time coming. On a related note, fuck you, Johann, you useless bag of... dead German. If you had a face, I would punch it repeatedly and with considerable enthusiasm.
The Avengers: I love this movie, okay? I know everybody else does, so I'm not breaking new ground, here, but... if there was a time to break out the *incoherent flail*, this is it. The biggest surprise of the film for me was probably Bruce Banner, who after two mediocre movies has somehow managed to claw his way to the top of my list of favourites in the franchise. Can this be largely attributed to the fact that Mark Ruffalo has incredible brown eyes? I don't know leave me alone. >_>
Related: Bruce/Tony friendship OTP. I will go down with this ship, etc. Let's just not talk about Planet Hulk.
I'll try not to disappear for as long next time. Erm.
