Help! Community advice?

So, guys, I kind of like Nick Fury.

In the past I've kept my enthusiasm to my own journal, mostly because the only relevant community -- shieldhq -- has been dead for years. Recently, though, I've been increasingly antsy for a fandom. It wouldn't have to be big; really, all I want is a handful of like-minded people so it wouldn't feel so much like I was ( Read more... )

You should totally create your own community! I know how much you love Nick Fury and I think with Iron Man 2 coming out in a few weeks, that'll generate some more interest.

I co-mod a community for Sharlto Copley, and while it's small and not that active, it's still really fun. Thankfully the other mod is really great with photoshop and stuff, because I suck at that. But you definitely have the passion for it and I think you'd be able to create a great community. :) I'd totally join it!

I'm letting myself be cautiously optimistic about my chances. My moderating experience has previously been limited to communities based around smaller movies which, from my experience, die after a couple of years. I'm hoping that if I work hard enough and he remains visible in the Marvel universe I can keep that from happening.

Because, man, one dead community is bad enough, but two would just be embarrassing. :P

If you create one from scratch then it will be YOURS! And I'll even join 'cause I need a new obsession.

It would be mine! But it's a lot of responsibility. I'd be heartbroken if it failed.

Yay! A potential member! I would post scans of Nick and Deadpool in your honour. >_>

I am so not qualified to talk on this.
The Madelyne Pryor comm on LJ is almost dead. all of 3 people post on it (me included), once every few months. And one of the 3 people who hang around there is even more scarce. x_x

Once every few months isn't ideal, but it's better than the activity level in the current Nick Fury community. Prior to my posting a week or so ago, nobody had posted there since 2007.

There has to be some way to create interest. >_< If I figure it out, I'll let you know.

This is true, *some* activity is better than no activity.
