My little brother got married last weekend. I wasn't there; I'd gone through a bunch of angst back in June about whether I could afford to make the trip or not, and then jackknight died and it became a moot point. But I do know it's weird when a little brother becomes someone's husband, and I definitely know what it's like when things aren't going well for you and other people are in celebration mode. (My mother, ever the queen of tact, said to me, "I had you all married off, and I was just about to get your brother taken care of, and now you're a widow and I have to worry about you again!" Gee, Ma, sorry to put a crimp in your plans. 0_0)
Anyway, I hope everything works out for your brother and his wife, and that things start looking up for your business very soon. I saw a pair of Siamese kittens for adoption the other day and totally thought of you!
*hugs back* My brother and his wife are now happily in Montreal on their honeymoon, and the wedding was nice, so...it turned out okay. I'm still worrying, but now it's over, so. (By the way, my brother's mother in law? Is AWFUL.)
Hope your brother and his wife are enjoying marriage so far.

Aww! You should've adopted them. They'd keep Catherine busy! ;)
It's very strange to have a little brother get married! I'm the eldest (two younger brothers) and the brother who is 22 months younger than me is the only one of us to marry or have a child (which was much stranger than seeing him get married!) His fiancee was eight years older than him, though, and he was in his final year of university, so there wasn't quite the feeling of "OMG he's out on his own!" that you seem to have. But the main thing was seeing them so very, very happy. It totally overwhelmed the weirdness.
(Also, they'd secretly got married nearly a year earlier, partially because of visa issues, so the change wasn't quite as drastic).

Yes! They should warn people about that. ;) Now that the ceremony is over, I'm having an easier time with it. I think it was just the "OMG it's HAPPENING" thing.
Sue the pants off the vet. And explain to the angry customers that you were acting in good faith, and that their ire should be directed at the vet that fucked up, not you.
*hugs* Your brother will get a reality check soon enough. If marriage isn't enough of one already.
P.S. You could get your rings engraved in Aurabesh. Or Jedi Symbol.
Seriously considered it. I figured out the other day that his fuckups, over the past three years, have cost me about $3K. Owww.

That would be cool! I wanted "one ring to bind them" (yes, paraphrasing, I don't care) because Nick and I met on a LotR messageboard. But we do like SW, so... hmm.
Oh god, will the poor cats be OK ? Hmm, I think it would only be fair if the vet refunded your customers himself !
And wow, married at 19 and 21 ? Sounds very young indeed to me... Then again, I still feel too young to marry, and I'm 33, so I'm not sure my opinion counts :P
It's possible that I'm a horrible person
It's more probable that you need to Just Stop Everything and Chill.

I hope he brings an umbrella. It's been raining like crazy recently.
And you aren't a horrible person at all. You feel what you feel, and that's that.

And yes, they are young, in my opinion. Nick and I were engaged at 19 and 20, but now we're 24 and 25 and still not married...

That still sounds really good. :)
