I could not possibly be any less inclined to do my homework. Not when I have so many tabs full of good fic open!
My German test this morning went all right--I may or may not have screwed up the subordinating conjunctions (that should be a fic title. grammar!porn), but otherwise it went well. I barely studied (oops. there was fic), but I usually don't need to do that much studying anyway, so all is well.
I finally got around to watching the unaired pilot of Sherlock last night. I had no idea it was so worth watching! I had assumed it was basically just A Study in Pink but shorter, but no! It was completely different. I mean, same basic story, though a couple of things happened differently, but it was totally different otherwise. Donovan and Anderson were different actors, John was dressed differently, he had a different cane, both he and Sherlock had different hair. Their flat was the same layout but decorated totally differently (read: weirdly), all the other sets were different, there was no Mycroft, Sherlock got drugged (which was hilarious but kind of stupid), there was none of the onscreen text. It had a very different feel to it, overall. Less dark, there was less to it in general. And Sherlock was different. Still a sociopath, but somehow a more well-intentioned sociopath. Like he was actually trying to be nice and just didn't no how or was often oblivious (with Molly, especially). Much less interesting that way.
So anyway, it was a fascinating comparison, and I'm super glad they went the miniseries route, because they made it so much better.
