Just read the most fabulous fic. Connie Willis's book Bellwether, which is about a woman researching the origins of fads. In the fic, she's researching fandom and fandom fads. This is the perfect metafic; it makes complete and utter sense. Plus, it reads just like the book does. Link.

Ohman, I know this is two days late, but comment has to be commented, because I'm currently rereading To Say Nothing Of The Dog and it's like coming home, I don't even know. Bellwhether is a close favourite, for several ridiculous reasons, including the fact that Passage makes me bawl my eyes out and so is notched down the list, beautiful as it is.

I like Bellwether a lot less than the Oxford ones, mostly because I'm a dork for Oxford and I dislike first person (not that that stopped me liking To Say Nothing of the Dog). It's still awesome, though. I still haven't read Passage. I have it, but I know it's going to be sad so I'm waiting until I'm in the right mood. :P
