Locked to the Safehouses, the Order and Allies.
It is something of a special day today. In honour of one of Scotland's most inspiring poets, (no, not my Great Uncle William) I have asked the house elves to serve a Haggis supper this evening.
I do hope that you will all join me.
There is another reason that today is special. I have some very good news for all potions students.
Professor Snape has agreed to resume his duties with us here at 'Hidden Hogwarts'.
This means that from Monday we will once again be able to offer potions practical sessions, alongside the theory work. OWL and NEWT students especially will appreciate the importance of this.
Professor Snape has asked me to remind you that all potions students should have completed any assignments and handed them in on time, and that everyone should be ready for a small test on Monday, to enable him to assess your progress through the syllabus since he was last here.
In addition to teaching potions, Professor Snape will resume his positions as Deputy Headmaster, and Head of Slytherin house respectively. Aye, and now ye can all look out you slippery little sods.
I am sure that everyone will join me in thanking Professor Patil and Professor Granger for all their hard work keeping the potions curriculum up to date during Professor Snape's sabbatical, and also in wishing Professor Patil a speedy recovery.
I shall leave you all with a wee quote from the 'Ode to a Haggis', to whet your appetite for tonight's supper.
Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang's my arm.
The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o need,
While thro your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead.
His knife see rustic Labour dight,
An' cut you up wi' ready sleight,
Trenching your gushing entrails bright
Like onie ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
Warm-reekin, rich.
To hear the rest of it, and partake in a fine tradition, you'll have to attend.
Highland dress is optional.
