Some meh-ish art + Reason #325 Why I Should Get More Sleep

Apr 06, 2007 20:23

Over the last few weeks, I've come to realize that whenever I pull all-nighters, I become excessively vulnerable to weird bunnies--of both the ficcy and arty variety.  My will-power disintegrates when I'm tired, and ... I don't know, I guess bunnies can sense weakness?  Whatever the case, they always pounce when I haven't slept.  They say things to me like, "Christine, write about a voyeuristic Lois who likes slash!" and I'm too exhausted to say no, and so I just write.  This wouldn't be such a bad thing if the same bunny jumped me every single time.  If that were the case, I would just not sleep for a week and BAM!  L'esprit de l'escalier would magically finish itself in a burst of never ending sleep-deprived inspiration, lol.  But nooooo, it always has to be a different bunny each time ...

So tonight, when I was at work--what am I talking about, I'm still at work, lol--I was trying to set up an experiment and an arty bunny came and whispered in my ear and said "Christine, let's draw Tom Welling as Metropolis Clark!"  And I'm tired and everyone else has gone home, so I went "Eh, what the hell, I've never drawn Tom Welling before.  Sure, why not."

Long story short: here is my attempt at drawing SV Clark once he dons the glasses.

I left his hairline alone instead of brushing it back like comics Clark, because I like his hair too much to mess with it. ^-^  And, hmm, what else ... I did the whole thing in pen without pencilling first (if I had allowed myself the luxury of erasing, I would never have stopped tweaking and thus, would never have stopped drawing, lol) so it might be a little off, or very off.  I can never tell what my art actually looks like unless I let it sit for a while, but I needed to post this now in order to purge the bunny. *grin*
As for other internet-y things: to all the wonderful, prolific people on my flist, and the other wonderful people who have emailed me and dropped me comments recently (what am I talking about ... "other people" psh ... you're the same people, lol)--I'll start cracking on getting back to you tomorrow, once I regain control of my higher cognitive functions and all that good stuff.  In the meantime, let's see if I can actually finish my work now so that I can go home and sleep for a long long long long long long time.  *hugs everyone and wanders off in a daze*
