Whoops, I actually almost missed my birthday! ... the birthday post I meant to make today, I mean. I have now walked the earth for twenty-nine years, which means that I've walked the earth for approximately six more years than we got inches of snow in my neighbourhood during Boston's fifth-largest recorded snowstorm. It was a pretty excellent storm, although of course, I'm only in a position to say that because I spent it safe and warm inside and never lost power or had my house flooded, and didn't have to dig out a car afterwards. I did a lot of sidewalk-shovelling, though! And I've thoroughly enjoyed the long weekend. The fridge is full of leftovers, because I've cooked and baked ALL THE THINGS, including BIRTHDAY CUPCAKES, so I'll have delicious things to eat all week. My lecture for tomorrow morning is of course, not finished yet, but things could definitely be worse.
And now I'd better go to bed, the better to get up early and see what new adventures walking the mile and a half to campus in all this snow (and the morning's forecast rain) produces.

I also ventured back onto facebook to acknowledge the many birthday wishes people left me today. The greetings were very warm and fuzzy and appreciated, but yeah, I am so not ready to be back on facebook. But I'm not going to think about it. I'm going to take deep breaths and go and get things ready for my lunch tomorrow.
