Hmm, will tomorrow's lecture, "1848 Around the World" (with "1848" standing in for revolutions and anti-colonial resistance c. 1840-1860) be the one where I manage to work in Louis Riel and the Red River Resistance/Northwest Resistance? Time to find out.
If not today, then maybe in "Scientific Racism and Europe's New Imperialism" next week?
In any case, I've now consumed enough caffeine that squeezing the Congress of Vienna, early-nineteenth century Imperial expansion, the revolutions of 1848 in Europe, the Indian Rebellion of 1857, and possibly the Taiping Rebellion and various Indigenous resistance movements in the Americas seems totally doable, although whyyyyyyy so many events, Modern History?
I also have to grocery shop and cook soon. I'm hoping to inaugurate the immersion blender I got for Christmas with a batch of squash-fennel soup.

I hear there's a football game tonight? Except wait, I actually can't hear that over the sound of the Canucks somehow managing to more or less beat the Blackhawks on Friday night. And now Ryan Kesler is travelling with the team. He might be back soon to save the daaaaay!
