AUGH. Strangely, I haven't yet mentioned my hand-wringing over plane tickets to France for the fall (mostly because of my hand-wringing over travel dates) but I'm going to now.
AIR CANADA, WHY YOU GOTTA BE LIKE THAT?
Seriously. Base fares, Boston to Paris and back, mid-September and early November: $468 CAD
Total fares and fuel surcharge fees, the same: $922 CAD
I have to steel myself and do it. It's not the cheapest, but the cheapest are Iberia and a Portuguese airline I've never heard of, followed by Icelandair. Icelandair is the cheapest Canadian dollar price (I'm buying this on my Canadian account) and about $40 cheaper than Air Canada, but I don't want to plan flights through Iceland right now, and unlike Iberia and TAP, Air Canada connects in Montreal and ends up at Charles de Gaulle. I think I'm okay with choosing Air Canada despite all that, but what if prices go down? AAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH.
On the other hand, I'd get a lot of Aeroplan miles with Air Canada, which is not to be scoffed at. And my mom says it's okay to go with what I'm comfortable with, even if it's a little more expensive.
BUT IT IS SO DIFFICULT!
I think I need a first world problems tag. Even if "first world problems" is an ever-so-problematic phrase in itself.
and me one traveller,
first world problems,
someone send me to france please
