So, tomorrow I'm going to that symposium at Harvard on cultural transfer in the early medieval Mediterranean. It should be interesting! Also, erstwhile advisor A is supposed to be there, although I'll only believe it when I see it. But it would be nice to see him - especially in a roomful of strangers and other assorted big-deal medievalists at Harvard.
On the other hand, I mostly spent today having a frustrating email conversation with advisor R. It ended up being less frustrating than it started, but the upshot is that she wants me to facebook friend my third reader, the better to communicate efficaciously with him. But I don't want to facebook friend him! That is mixing work and play altogether too much. Facebook isn't my professional communication tool! Argh.
Anyway, must go to bed soon, the better to be over at Harvard by nine tomorrow.
