(no subject)
Ugh. So, the minor flu-like thing I mentioned a week ago Thursday, and which never seemed to amount to anything after the first couple of days of sore throat, slight fever, and general vague feeling of blech, seems to be back. And in retrospect, I don't think it fully went away, because my throat's been sore on and off ever since, especially in the mornings, and occasionally has felt swollen, and a number of things I attributed to dry air and talking too much without proper breath support in discussion section on Wednesday. But no. I think it may actually be my tonsils.
AAAAAUGH. Tonsillitis is NOT MY SHTICK, GUYS! It belongs to cubicle-mate J who's had it chronically all fall and still has it, because she hasn't had her throat cultured mid-infection enough times yet this year to qualify for a tonsillectomy. I cannot get it! It is too ridiculous.
But, as far as I can get a look at my throat, things do not look good. And one side definitely hurts more than the other. I feel more or less fine otherwise, but I think I'll call my doctor in the morning and see if I can get an appointment and get it checked out. That is, after all, why I went to all the trouble of getting a doctor in the first place, is it not? And making a doctor's appointment for a sore throat that hasn't gone away isn't exactly like going into emergency with it, right?
I think I'm going to go and have some more tea and some soup. I was going to make risotto for supper tonight, but maybe I'll make my spicy, garlic-laced lentil soup instead. Garlic has antibiotic properties, right?
