Perhaps this is a good button to be number 6. It is also the one I have been the most hesitant to share, as it is not everyone's cup of tea (and fics warn for it).

Another week, another h/c button with rec(s)

I am not a fan of amnesia fic. When its done well, it can really add depth and drama to a fic. However, as its not really one of my buttons, I thought I'd explore a broader button which is: Hero versus the world. This is a very very broad button but can be drilled down into a few key highlights.

H/C Button No 3. Stoic Hurt

This button comes in many forms and flavours and the core aspect remains in tact throughout. The hero endures the hurt - stoicly. Quitely. With restraint.

A good example of this is from big_pink's Fire in the Hole - and here is the example:

I LOVE finding new fic... well written gems that just flabbergast me with wonderment and delight. I get all giggly and content when I stumble upon these awesome constructions of words and characters.

Bad fic saddens me. especially bad fic with lots of reviews and comments... cos' that's just sad and a continued detriment to the standard of literary ( Read more... )
