Just some quick thoughts on tonight's ABC shows.
Lost: Ok, so I guess I was both wrong and right (sort of) about Eko's past. I'd been thinking that he was a priest. Which he wasn't. Only he kind of sort of was - on paper, anyway.
So the black cloudy thing on the island that Eko shared a stare-down with, is that the "monster" that Locke also went face to face with early in season 1? The scene with Eko was very reminiscent of that one, only this time we got to see what Eko was looking at. I had to go back and watch that scene again because I couldn't at first make out that the faces of those images being flashed inside the cloud were of the people and places we saw in his flashbacks. Looking into this thing causes your life to flash before your eyes? Literally? Does it do something to the person looking through it that causes them to relive images from their past? Or is it somehow pulling these images from the person as a type of data collection?
I missed the first scene with Michael and Locke (at least I think it was Locke). Why is Michael keeping mum about the message from Walt (or someone pretending to be Walt)? Did "Walt" advise him to? Guess I need to go back and watch that scene, too.
Oh, Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. Charlie. I so very much wanted to see him throw that statue Eko gave him on to the fire. I definitely didn't want to see that he's stashing not one but several heroin-filled statues. Argh. Bad, Charlie, bad. Drugs are bad, mmm'kay?
Not much going on with the rest of the gang, but I do have to say...Jin sure is pretty. And I still like him even if he did give a fish to Ana-Lucia. I didn't really hate her this episode though. Could be because she didn't actually say or do anything.
Invasion: When Russell was explaining things to Mariel, shouldn't he have mentioned the reconstruction of her husband's skull instead of just showing her a strange-looking skeleton and expecting her to believe him when he said it was the real Tom? I mean, obviously, she's got her own suspicions about everything going on, so it wasn't going to be as hard a sell as it would be with most people, but still a little more detailed explanation might have helped that conversation go a little better.
They really need to do more with Dave than have him whine every week about how Russell's blowing his chance to prove that E.B.E.s are real. It's getting a little bit tiresome.
What the hell is in the locked room at the Sheriff's house? Does he have the kids down there? Does it lead to where he's taken the kids? Hmm. It didn't really look that way from the preview. Does Mariel get to go into the locked room in her house? If not, wouldn't that be beyond odd for your husband to have a padlocked room in your house that you're not allowed to go in? Weird.
