Narnia, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly and Crash...

I was without internet access for the majority of the day and realized...being without it truly sucks.  So many disappointing instances of thinking, "Oh!  I'll just look that up!" and realizing I couldn't.

On the brighter side, I found the birthday gift I was looking for yesterday.  Woo hoo!  (And at the first store I went to last night - they restocked, apparently.)

Looks like they may be adapting another book in The Chronicles of Narnia series: Prince Caspian is Moving Ahead .  I haven't read that one since I was a child so I'm totally blanking on the plot.  And they say "next book", but wasn't A Horse and His Boy next?  I just recently read the first three books in a collected volume, but I know I didn't get to Prince Caspian yet.  Does that one come sooner in the "historical" timeline?

The day after I heard in the audio commentary that Zoic Studios was involved in the Battlestar Galactica miniseries and reacted with a "Hey!  Zoic!  Firefly!", I ran across this article at SciFi Wire:  Firefly F/X Led To Galactica.   I truly love the style of both series and the movie, so it was kind of cool to see that one, in some part, inspired the other.

Finished watching Crash last night.  Loved it.  So many characters that were drawn in such a way that by the end of the film you could see them all in a different light, as people with both good and bad in them, all shades of gray.  Excellent cast, too.

Next up tonight, if I can stay awake: Dark Water (2005).  I've seen the original Japanese film, but this is my first viewing of the Jennifer Connelly Americanized version.  I didn't really have any particular fondness for the original, so we'll see how this one turns out.  I've been enjoying watching and comparing all these recent Japanese horror film remakes.  Next, I'm looking forward to Pulse in March, with Kristen Bell.  I just wish the original (Kairo) would hit DVD first.
