「i'm dreaming for your dream.」

The TARDIS landed with its trademark noise, as the Doctor checked the signs on the monitor. "Yes, alright--Elizabethan era! Beautiful time, rich in art, history, science, controversy--ah, we might not want to step into the controversy parts, those might... not be so nice." He paused, thinking for a moment, before shaking his head. "Come on, Pond! ( Read more... )

There were clothes scattered all over the floor. Random fabrics flew through the air; Amy's red head ducked and dodged them as she entered wardrobe room after the Doctor. Her boot kicked aside the kimono that fell across her feet.

"I'm coming."

Then she picked up a sombrero that had fallen nearby, putting it on her head. She tilted it back and modeled it in the large mirror. She shimmed her shoulders playfully, dancing, and then threw her gaze over her shoulder at the Doctor.

"I don't understand why you don't have to dress up. You'll stick out even more than usual. Bow ties haven't even been invented yet." She muttered the words 'thank god' under her breath.

She took the sombrero off and threw it to the side. With her arms folded over her chest, she crossed the room and stood next to the Doctor. She looked down at the raggedy tunic and breeches. "Ew," she reacted, "I'm not wearing that. I want something a bit more, you know..." Her hands traced her sides, trying to accent her curves.

--bow ties hadn't been invented yet. Oh. He stopped, staring straight ahead, tapping the side of his temple. Oh, not good. Ah, very not good, he'd actually have to... silently, he opened his jacket, glancing at his suspenders. He was drawing a blank--but he could guess that suspenders hadn't been invented yet, either. "Yes, well." The Doctor looked back at her, before throwing the peasant garb to the side as well, rummaging through the few dresses in the back.

"It'd fit, at least. Ah--! Here we go, fit for a queen. Or, well, the lady of a knight, really." He showed her the dark oliver-green dress, large and embroidered with tiny glass beads and decorative stitching. It must've taken a lot of time to hand-sew.

"Corset, corset, corset..." He mumbled under his breath, glancing around. He wasn't going to bring to light that he would definitely need to change.

No, the Doctor didn't have anything in mind, and he had a good idea of what the men wore in this time.

And quite frankly, he'd rather just wear a body-encompassing fez.

Amy leaned over his shoulder, peeking at the dresses he shifted through. "Ooh, are you going to be my knight then?" Her mouth dropped open to speak again as she caught a glimpse of something she might like, but of course it was gone and tossed aside before she could say anything. Then her lips settled into a puckered position as he pulled out something even better.

She laughed, taking the dress from his hands. "Now, this is what I'm talking about. Look at the stitching! It's beautiful," she gushed as her fingers followed the trail of beading.

Now why was it he was capable of dressing others and not himself?

Looking up, she lifted one of her eyebrows at the Doctor. "Corset?"

"I don't really have a suit of armor," he said simply, actually needing time to think about it before he went on. The Doctor waved a light salmon corset at her, hooking it on the railing near her, as he went back to searching for something a bit more... period-esque.

Which he really didn't want to do.

As he came across a puffy white shirt with an embroidered vest, he winced. No, no, no--no.

The Doctor turned sharply and started out of the closet. "Now, go on, I won't watch."
