We love our tragedies.
We're both broken in our own little ways
We're broken, but we fit together just right
You know I saw the black inside your eyes
I saw they were eclipsed by mine, and they looked just right.

“Selene?” he asked, touching her arm.

“Sorry, just thinking.”

“About what?”

“They’re just thoughts,” she said, pulling into the dirt road. “Nothing big.” She sped up to reach the house faster, then made a U-turn so she could back up the car.

They brought everything into the house, and she showed James the basement.

“I didn’t know you had this down here,” he said, scattering some of the equipment on the table, then looked around.

“Well, that’s sort of the point, really.” Before she could walk back upstairs, James grabbed her right arm gently, pulled her against him and kissed her slowly. He'd held back for as long as he could, but he had as much self control as the Doctor had. The Time Lord had kissed Martha the first day he met when he could have licked her face to give her the genetic transfer, but instead, he gave into her.

Selene responded to the kiss, doing her best to avoid biting his thin lips. Her hands made their way though his hair, grabbing a handful gently. She heard him moan, then felt his erection press against her abdomen.

“Let’s go get the rest of that equipment before it gets dark,” he said, pulling away, dragging her with him. Selene unzipped the top of her outfit, suddenly feeling hot, and followed the half alien back upstairs to retrieve the rest of the equipment.

“Are you going to start now?” he asked, bringing down her new weapons, then sitting next to her on the stool at the work table.

“I should,” she replied, reading through Roman’s instructions.

“Do you need help?” Selene was aware of his closeness and knew he still needed some sort of physical contact, but she needed to get started on the ammunition.

“I’d rather you not help with the ultraviolet or silver nitrate, but you can help organize the equipment for the bullets and put up the weapons in an empty spot. The ultraviolet can cause serious harm to your skin, and I’m afraid of what the silver nitrate would do to you if your skin came in contact with it.”

“Alright,” he replied. “I’m going to get dressed in something else and I’ll be back down.” Before leaving, he gave her another kiss and jogged back upstairs to dress in some of the new clothes he had bought today.

Admittedly, he felt weird in the dark blue denim jeans, but they fitted him nicely. He took out a few shirts and decided on a plain, black tight fitted one.

James looked at himself in the mirror and thought he looked pretty good. He put on his new pair of black and white Converse, and joined the vampire downstairs. She looked so graceful pouring the glowing ultraviolet into the bullets before putting the backing on them.

“How many are you making?”

“A few hundred of each,” she replied, before starting on the next one.

“Will the other vampires know where to look for you?” he asked, starting on his new task.

“They will once the Elder is woken,” Selene said quietly. “When he’s fully regenerated, he’ll come for me and I’ll need you to be gone.”

“Why?” He turned around after hanging one of the guns with the others.

“I’m not going to risk your life, so if you need to call the Time Lord, I suggest you do it soon. It won’t be long before the Elder vampire is found and brought back. It’ll take him three days to reach full regeneration, and when he does, he’ll drink the blood of anyone who’s come in contact with me so he’ll know where to find me, and then kill them.”

“Who’s going to be here when he decides to attack?” asked James, moving closer. “I won’t feel right leaving you on your own.”

“There’s a fleet of trained officers, who’ve helped me in the past to take down Marcus and his brother, William. They’ll be here once I call them, and when I do, I need you to go somewhere safe. I lost Michael in the fight against Marcus; I’m not repeating the same mistake.”

“How long will this last; us being apart?” James slid over a new tray of empty bullets for her to fill.

“I don’t know - days, maybe.” She looked away from her work and tilted her head to look at James’ concerned face. “This is the most powerful vampire in the world and once he realizes I’ve killed his family, he will in fact come for me, and he’ll kill you without mercy if he knows you’re here with me.”

“What if I choose to stay?” he challenged her decision in making him leave her.

“Then I’ll drug you and put you somewhere safe myself.” She replied quickly, and stood up to face him better. “This isn’t your fight, and I’ll be damned again if I let you come with me.”

“It’s my choice if I want to stay,” James backed her against the table to stand over her. “The Doctor made my choices for me and I won’t let you do the same for me.”

“Are you willing to risk your life to do this for someone you barely know - to go through so much pain and suffering if he gets a hold of you?”

He didn’t answer - instead, he ducked his head to kiss her possessively. That was his answer.

James reached around her to unzip her leather corset and tossed it to the floor. He pulled away and unzipped the front of her top, and opened it to reveal her cold, milky white body. Her rosy pink nipples brushed against the thin material of his shirt and his erection pressed against his trousers caused a painful friction.

Picking her up, he took her upstairs to her room, kissing her, and never missing a step. He put her down gently, stripping out of his shirt and jeans, then joined her on the bed. She helped him remove her buckled boots and tight leather pants, tossing them to the floor. The Doctor’s human counterpart kissed down her neck and between her breasts, needing to remember how she felt and tasted, just in case she talked him into leaving without her.

“James,” she panted and arched her back when he bit her inner thighs.

Making his way back up to her, James aligned his cock with her opening and slowly pushed inside. It had been a while since the Doctor had made love, and it was the first time for James. Her hips started to thrust up against his, causing him to tremble.

When he felt comfortable with his body pressed against hers, he circled and rolled his hips, and pushed in harder each time. Despite her cold body, she was so very hot and wet around his member.

“Are you okay?” he heard Selene ask him, reaching up to stroke his hair.

“Yeah,” he breathed out and felt Selene move from him and push him to lie on his back. She straddled his legs and slid down his cock, and James cried out, unable to last much longer. Selene rocked her hips faster, placing her hands on his hairy chest.

James came first, exploding into her and grabbing hold of her hips hard enough to bruise them with his fingers. Selene came shortly after and rode out her orgasm.

“I hope it always feels that good,” James said breathlessly.

“It usually does,” Selene smiled down at his sweaty, tired face, and slid off of his cock to lie beside him. “Are you still alive?”

“I think so,” James opened his eyes once his breathing caught up with him. He turned his head and captured her lips. ”Thank you.”

“For what?”

“That was my first time, to be honest,” he replied shyly. “The Doctor hasn’t made love in years and I wasn’t about to have sex with someone who didn’t care about me in the other dimension.”

“Well, I’m glad you care enough about me to do this,” she said softly. And truthfully, she cared about him too - she just found it hard to know why she cared so much about someone she’s only known for two days.

“I do,” he smiled and turned his head to kiss her. “Can I ask you a question?”

“You usually do,” she replied. “What?”

“Would I turn into a vampire too, if you bit me?”

“No, you’d have to drink my blood to be turned. Why?”

“I want you to.” He turned his head to expose his neck.

“I can’t.” She touched his smooth neck, feeling his pulse quicken. “I only would if you were dying, and that’s because I’d want to save you.”

“I want you to,” he repeated. “I just want to feel it.”

“Why?” asked Selene with a slight frown.

“Because it’s you; some people cut themselves to feel…and I want to feel what it’s like.”

“You’re comparing yourself to people who cut themselves?”

“Please,” he begged again. Selene sighed and gave in. Slowly, she dipped her head; her eyes turned silver. She gave his neck a few kisses before sinking her vampire teeth into James’ neck. She drank some of his blood, but didn’t take enough to make him feel weak.

The vampire pulled away, and licked her lips and teeth.

“How did that feel?” she asked, placing her cold hand over the puncture wounds.

“Really good, strangely.” He moved his head and rolled on top of her. They made love again, this time with James on top, making her come first. When they rested again, Selene let him sleep while she went to continue her work on the ammunition, taking a break every now, then went to check on him.

She stood in the doorway, watching him sleep, wondering how their relationship had got this far already, but she didn’t care. When she and Michael were together, it didn’t take long for them to make love either. Taking one last look at him, she headed back down to the basement to finish the ammunition.

It took a few patient but cruel hours to fill up all of the bullets she had and put them away safely. She walked back upstairs to find James lying on the couch, playing with the mobile phone she gave him earlier.

“You’re finally up, I see.” Selene walked to the couch, bending over the sofa, resting her arms on the back.

“I didn’t know sex was really that exhausting. Are you all finished downstairs?”

“Yeah,” she rubbed her neck.

“You know, you should have a TV.” He gestured towards the wall.

“And plug it where? And the cable companies around here would not want to put up the lines for me to have cable. I have my computer and electricity - that’s all I really need.”

“So, now that you’re equipped for this vampire war…what do we do now?” asked James, putting away his phone.

“I’ll know when the Elder is awake; because he’s the most dangerous, they buried him where no one could find him, but the ones who knew where he is are dead. Who knows when he’ll be found and woken?”

“If you know he’ll come after you, why don’t you, or we, just leave? I can call the Doctor-”

“No.” She stopped him, shaking her head. “He won’t stop looking or killing until he’s dead, and once he’s dead, the vampires will have to find a new leader, and they don’t take that kind of responsibility well - finding a new leader.”

Selene moved to sit beside James on the couch and rubbed her head. James slid closer to her and wrapped his right arm around her shoulders. They sat in silence, just enjoying the entertainment of their exploring hands on each others’ bodies.

“Did you decide what you’re going to do?” asked Selene, now lying below James on the couch.

“I want to stay, but maybe I can be useful in other areas, if you need me. I haven’t used a gun before and I’m not very strong, so I don’t know how much use I’d be to you.”

“We’ll see what happens,” she replied softly.

James reached to take off her corset again, dropped it to the floor, then found her zipper in the front of her outfit and pulled it down far enough to kiss up and down her chest.

“Did you want to go upstairs?” Selene asked, threading her fingers through his brown hair.

“We’ve already been upstairs,” he murmured against her skin. He removed the top of her outfit and started working on her boots. “Do these large things have to be so complicated?” Selene smiled and helped him again.

“They’re heavy so my feet can handle high impact jumps.” She kicked off the other boot and lay back down. He let her remove his shirt and unzip his jeans, shoving them down off his skinny hips.

When they were finally undressed, James positioned himself above her and slid into the cool vampire. After knowing what making love felt like and having a release, his want for Selene had escalated.

Her cold fingers roamed up and down his back, then down to his cute bottom. James brought her left leg to rest over his shoulder and pushed into her at the right angle to make her scream. He smiled when he found her g-spot and continued to brush against it with each fast and hard thrust.

Before they climaxed, Selene reached up to sink her teeth back into his neck, causing him to double orgasm.

“Did that hurt?” she asked breathlessly.

“No,” he replied, pulling out of her, then pulling her up to turn her over onto her stomach. “It’s hard to stop,” James said, slightly worried. “I want to control myself, but I need you.”

“It’s okay,” she turned back around to cup his face. “Just take it easy and go slower this time.” Selene kissed his lips, then turned to the arm of the couch, rested her arms on it and propped herself on her knees. Sex with James was mind blowing, and she could barely control herself too. She felt him push into her slowly until he filled her up to the base.

He pulled out, then pushed back in slowly, eliciting a loud cry from his new lover. She pushed back against him, meeting his thrusts. They found a steady rhythm and James’ hands roamed her hips, back, before landing in her hair, giving it a light tug. Neither was able to last long before they came and collapsed on the couch.

Selene curled into his side, resting her hand on his hip, falling asleep. James watched her sleep for a while, before falling asleep too.

Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for Selene to wake again, feeling rushed. She bent down to put on her clothes and ran to the computer, contacting the fleet of officers, who went by the name Corvinus, after their previous leader.

“Selene?” James asked tiredly.

“James, get up,” she commanded quickly. “Get dressed, we have to go.”

“Why?”

“They've found him,” she replied. “The vampires found the Elder and they’re taking him back to the mansion.”

“How do you know?” asked James, putting on his clothes and joining her by the computer.

“I can feel it,” she replied and started a video conversation with the Commander of the fleet.

James ran downstairs to the basement to get things ready while Selene handled the plans with the fleet.

“We can pick you up in a jet in less than half an hour,” the American man on the computer said, arranging for the pilot to pick her up.

“I’ll leave my mobile on so you can track the signal and know where to find me. I also have someone else with me and he insists on helping, but I’m trying to convince him not to.”

“Who is it?” the American asked.

“His name’s James Noble - he can’t fight with us, he’s not trained. Is there a position for him there at HQ?”

“There’s no reason why he shouldn’t be able to come here. Can he handle computers?”

“Absolutely,” she replied. “He’s quite brilliant, in fact.” Selene smiled to herself and returned to the conversation. “We’ll be ready when you get here; I want to get to the Elder before he’s fully regenerated.”

“How long will it be until he reaches full regeneration?”

“Three days at the most.” Selene looked to the left to see James bringing things from the basement.

“Alright,” said the American. “I also have another team here that is more than willing to help out.”

“Who?” The vampire sighed when she saw Raze; a large Lycan the size of a brick house. He was Lucian’s right hand man, and had fought alongside him since the vampires’ war against the Lycans. “Raze.”

“Selene.” The large black man moved the leader of the fleet out of the way and sat down.

“Why are you helping me?” she asked with a frown.

“Because I want him dead; he can control the other vampires and create more Death Dealers that will continue the war. Besides, you look like you can use some help; these humans are made of just skin and bone, and they won’t last in the fight against the Elder.” Raze’s deep voice deepened further. “This war will be over, even if I have to die for it.”

“Agreed,” she replied and James walked back over to her. “Who would have thought a vampire would join humans and Lycans in a mission to kill the leader of all vampires?”

“Times have changed,” Raze nodded his head. “This war will end, Selene.”

“No arguments from me,” she sighed and looked up at James. “We’ll be ready by the time the jet gets here.”

Raze nodded his head again and the Commander of the fleet got back on to the computer.

“The jet's left already - it should be there soon. They’re flying as fast as they can.”

“Good,” she replied. “We’ll be waiting.” Selene tuned off the video feed and stood up, walking to the cart James had brought in from the kitchen. She loaded her guns with the ultraviolent ammunition and carried a few more extra magazine clips in her coat.

“Do you still want me to leave?” James asked.

“Evan, the Commander of the fleet, said you can stay at HQ and help with activating our equipment using their computer systems. Most likely, once the Elder reaches full regeneration, he will be on the hunt for me in particular, bringing other vampires to fight alongside him, and we’ll need you at the base to lead us through wherever he is.”

James nodded and stayed silent.

“The base should be protected by some of the Lycans, who surprisingly decided to join forces.” The vampire fastened the gun holsters around her legs and handed James her corset.

“Could he kill you?” asked James, standing behind her, zipping up the leather corset.

“I don’t know,” she replied. “Viktor tried, but my blood is mixed with Michael’s now so I’m not sure how much limit I have on my powers.”

“How are you going to kill him, then? You said he was the most powerful vampire in the world.”

“I don’t know,” she turned around to face him. “The ultraviolet would just disable him for a short time; my best bet is to probably cut off his head.”

James looked like he wanted to crawl into a hole and not come out until it was all over.

“You can call the Doctor so he can take you somewhere, you don’t have to do this.”

“I want to,” he scratched the back of his head nervously. “I just wish I was stronger so I could be there with you.”

“We’ll both be fine,” she replied, hearing the jet flying above the open field. “They’re here sooner than I thought. Come on.” Selene pulled on James’ hand and made sure he got into the jet first. Some of the soldiers ran out of the jet to help Selene grab the weaponry before they took off to the base.

James was seated next to Raze and was too afraid to even attempt to move to another seat.

“What are you?” the deep voice of the Lycan asked, looking down at James.

“Half Time Lord, half human…you can tell I’m not fully human?”

“Yes,” Raze replied.

“Don’t scare him,” Selene said, running up the ramp and into the jet, taking a seat across from James.

“That’s part of the fun,” the Lycan replied and extended his hand. “Enemies become friends when they share a common enemy.” Selene nodded and shook his large hand.

“Alright,” the Commander stood up as they took off. “We’re heading to the base first; we will set up there, before making our final plan. Selene is going to lead us in when we find the Elder and make our way in. You will be split into three teams: Selene’s, Raze’s, and mine. If you insist on not following their orders, I give them permission to shoot you.”

Raze let out a deep chuckle and looked at the human soldiers, then turned serious. Selene watched the humans squirm in their seats and smiled behind her hair. They wouldn’t dare disobey Raze’s orders now.

She looked up at James and caught his smile, and returned it. The Commander of the fleet quickly walked over to her with a laptop and sat down. James felt a slight pinch in his heart, seeing the other man sitting so close to her.

“We’re using satellites to look down on the vampire mansion, where you used to be. So far, we’ve only seen the other vampires bring in a large silver coffin or something, but we think it’s the Elder. Any outside activity will be transmitted to us, so we’ll know when the Elder will be on the hunt.”

The Commander then looked up at James and nodded his head at him as a greeting.

“James Noble?” he asked, and James nodded his head. “We have a station set up for you at the base so you’ll have complete access to everything once we get there.”

“What will I be doing?” he shouted over the loud sound of the engine.

“We’ll have to explain it once we get there; it’s not very complicated, but you should be able to learn it quickly.”

The ride took a little while, but they still made it to the base in record time. They arrived on a large boat, which was made to look like Alexander Corvinus’ old boat before he had blown it up with himself in it.

The Commander showed James his station, and asked for Selene and Raze to join him in another part of the base.

“You’ll be alright here,” said Selene, looking up at James. “I’m not sure when I’ll see you after we leave - just do what they say, alright?”

James nodded and kissed her before she left with the human and Lycan.
