Cooking Chinese...

Apr 15, 2009 18:41

I've been hit by some odd inspiration lately, and have been looking into cooking indian/middle eastern/chinese food lately.... collecting ingredients here and there, but not cooking anything yet, until tonight.

I'm making what the internets says is 3 chinese dishes :D I have no idea how correct they really are, but it smells good!

Main Dish:
Baked Hoisin Sauce Chicken Wings

Side Dish:
Whole Wheat Pasta with Peanut Sesame Sauce

And for dessert, I'm going to attempt Sesame Seed Balls:

So far the peanut sauce is hot, the hoisin sauce smells delish, and I might need to go buy more oil to fry the balls...

ETA: Wings = delish!! Pasta = too hot for me, bet Conn will love it.... I'll put marinara sauce on the rest of the plain spaghetti for me... and I have to go buy more oil to fry the balls in....

...go figure, this is a night that Conn's working late, so he can try leftovers when he gets home at 9:30 :P At least the pasta can be eaten hot or cold, it says.

I have plans to attempt naan in a pan at some point in the next couple of weeks. I bought the ghee earlier this week. All sorts of neat ingredients I'll have to use now!
