Yay for commissions!

Well, that was fun!

Trena and I finally connected, and she came to pick up her jewelry pieces tonight.  She called when she was outside, and said she had someone who also wanted to see a few pieces I might've had around.  So she, her daughter and (I presume) her boyfriend came up, and I showed them a few necklaces, chokers and such that I had.

It ended up that they ordered several things between them, which makes me very happy.  Even better is that they understand that I can't promise I can have it all ready by Xmas; they just want her daughter's ring done by then, which is the easiest part of it all, so that's no problem.

I also get to play with anodizing titanium again, since all 3 want Ano Ti in their pieces... pink/purple for the girls, and dark blue for him.  Means I gotta pick up more distilled water, and clean off things to set stuff up again.

She also said she's more than willing to barter me Fantasia stuff instead of paying for pieces too... I took her up on that tonight, but I'm not sure if I will for the new pieces, as I can really use the money to pay for my trip to Boston in January.  We'll see how things go.

I just finished writing all the new pieces up in a notebook I'm hoping to devote just for commissions now.  I wrote such on the front in big letters. Each person got their own page, and for the finger rings, I measured their fingers with cotton yarn, each piece of which is now taped onto their pages :)  I do want to get a better agenda book for the future, though, something not so easy to lose, to put these things into.

In other news, I finally took the cotton from the madder last night and set it up to dry, which it was by this morning, which surprised me.  Sadly, instead of the red I wanted, it's decidedly PINK.  So now I have 6.4 meters of pink cotton.  I'm not sure if I want to order some cochineal to overdye it with to try for red, or see if I can trade it for some silk instead.  I might just pick up some silk with this commission money when I get it, and keep both, and see what happens.

Now to do up those rings for Jo for Monday.

commissions, cotton, maille
