My weekend

Nov 05, 2007 11:19

Well, other than being quite unnerved by the strength of the wind coming up the road at me, I only lost power for 2 hours, 11:30 til 1:30 am Saturday night. Got to talk to Jon on IM the next morning, though, which is always a good thing. :)

Been doing lots of maille work, continuing work on a new top I started last week, and starting another new project, both of which I hope to have done to wear at Arisia in January. We will see how they both go. ;) I also got a bit more work done on a commission, and when I get paid for part of it, I will buy more silver wire to finish the rest of it.

Finished the first sock for Mom, and have 2-3" of the second toe done. I prefer doing my socks toe-up, especially in specialty yarns, as I have a much better idea of if I have enough yarn. In this case, I do, and thanks to some useful suggestions, will probably make mittens or gloves from the leftovers to match the socks.

Last night my computer got a virus. Looks like some sort of trojan. I don't know what it does other than make lots of IE windows pop up and be generally VERY annoying, but if any of you have gotten email from me in the last day, it's not me. I especially don't send attachments, so be wary. I've been trying to run a scanner, but it somehow got shut down overnight, so I have it running again today while I'm here at work, and we'll see how progress is on that when I get home.

Update on trip to Boston in January; tickets are bought, the last thing to do is get my passport. I have the papers with me, and am heading to the office after work. I hope the lineup is short today; if not, I'll get more done on this sock, and will be back however many days it takes to get my papers submitted.

Now back to work, although my fingers are so not wanting to type. I'm backspacing about 25% of what I'm typing today, and am about 15 minutes of dictation behind where I normally am by lunch. :(
