So thinking about Sean Watson today and I realized that he works at the night clinics. He's met Red Hood when the man is scared and hurt and railing at the world and a bit insane. He doesn't take gruff from Red Hood when he visits. Just sets him down to clean him up when he's hurt. Or makes him sit down and eat (even if its Watson's own lunch.) and generally hopes for the best with the mentally unbalanced vigilantly but prepared to take him on at his worst.

"I can kill you, you know," Red Hood says, his voice menacing. The rather large gun trained at Watson's head a hair breath away from blowing the old man's brains out.

"I know," the old man's voice steady and resigned. He's faced death more times then he could count. He's faced kids with that mad look in their eyes that Red Hood has, The kids that grew up in war zones with evil, with demons carved into their skin by the folks around them. Kids that the evil of the world had chewed up and spit out and would one day be the demons of the earth that would use up the next generation. But kids none the less, the ones that still had hope for the future, that someday it could be OK and why did the world have to be such a hateful, hurtful thing. "I know you can kill me. Doesn't mean I'm not going to stop trying. Now sit down and let me take care of you."
