tropical island or grad school?

so i was minding my own business on line. opening my web browser and what not. when yahoo had a featured article about how queensland australia is accepting applications for an "island care taker" for 6 months. you get to live on the island for 6 months, you get to go around various other islands and what not. just chill for 6 months. except that you have to do weekly blogs and picture diaries and what not since the whole point of this job is that you are promoting tourism in the area.

they want someone who can do english (written and spoken), is good at talking to people and what not, adventurous, likes the outdoors, and so forth. but they also said something about a years relevant experience. i dont know what that experience would consist of, but that doesnt mean i wont apply. well, actually, the fact that most of the time the website doesnt work b/c how many people are checking it out might keep me from applying. i briefly got to look at the homepage earlier, but then it timed out. so as soon as i can see everything i need ima be allllll over it.

there are only a few really good reasons to not go to grad school after everything i have done to try and get in, but this is soo one of them. how is this not a once in a life time opportunity?! part of the job is writing. that is freaking amazing!!! i am all over creative non-fiction. i could so do whatever this job requires.

i wonder if people are allowed to come visit you? i will have friends near by :)

ps. the 6 month job pays around $100,000. to chill on the great barrier reef for 6 months!!!
