Hate

Would you cry if someone you thought you loathed were to disappear forever? Would you feel sorrow? Everyone has one person in their life that they hate, they loath. If they were to die, if they were to leave, and you saw all their friends and family weeping over their motionless body, would you weep for them? Would you feel sorrow for them? Would you just turn your head away and pretend it didn’t happen?

Hate is a strong word...and I only realize this now. How can someone truly hate another? I think we will only understand hate if we feel nothing towards another when they leave. I think if we hate someone, we won’t talk about how horrible they are. We won’t go on and on about our hate, we would just avoid the topic entirely. We wouldn’t want to hear their name, we wouldn’t feel the pent up anger, because they are not part of us, we have shunned them out of our life...and that is all.

If that person we hated were to die we would not weep, we would not feel sorrow, or pity, we would feel nothing.

With that in mind, do we truly hate anyone?
