True Story - Mushy Food

True Story

For the uninitiated, every so often I tell a True Story about something really dumb that I've done that is funny enough to share. Usually True Stories are things that happened in the past which were brought to mind by something related. However, this episode revolves around tonight's dinner.

Feeling empowered with the progress of my dental work I decided to scramble a couple of eggs and make some toast for supper. I had soup for lunch today, and will again tomorrow, so didn't want it again for my evening meal. I proudly took my eggs, toast, the last of a can of peaches, and a glass of Tang into the living room, sat down in front of the television, and commenced eating something with a real and true fork for a change. As it turns out the reality of eating toast was still far too ambitious for what my tender mouth could handle, so I bit off the softer bits and left the rest on my plate. As I slurped on the leftover canned peaches I thought about how poor my diet's been lately, with the majority of my fruit servings being applesauce or canned pears or peaches. Really missing my fresh fruits and veggies, I thought to myself, Dang, I am so sick of eating the same mushy food day after day. I took a look at the sagging peach on my fork. Why doesn't someone make all kinds of pureed fruits? Like pureed peaches, pureed strawberries - ooo, strawberries would be good. Or blueberries!

Then it hit. Oh, wait. They do. It's called baby food.
