McCain has finally brought Bush around to agreeing that torture is a Bad Thing. He practically had to shame him into it. Will we still be torturing people on the sly? Will someone be asked to be the fall guy and do it but claim later it was without authority? Will they use all the sneaky ways to get away with it that they use to do other illegal ( Read more... )

There is a bill amendment circulating through the legislative branches to provide clear guidelines forbidding torture of prisoners such as those that have occurred in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay. This bill would protect even those not covered under the Geneva Convention. Nine Republican Senators voted against it and their names bear repeating here ( Read more... )
