My Facebook musing: It's interesting to me that the fundraisers I've seen for physical ailments seem to be much more successful than my little psychotherapy fundraiser. Is that because physical treatment is easier to fathom than the vague-seeming process of psychotherapy or a result of the stigma of mental illness (or both)? IDK, all I know is that

Update: total raised as of Oct 28 is $440.00 from 10 donors, $60 more will make enough for five total therapy appointments. Recognizing that potential donors will need money for their holiday shopping, I plan to resume fundraising in January at some point. Someone posted this on Facebook for the anniversary of a loved one's death by suicide. I value this perspective. If I ever lose this battle I would prefer for people to remember all the years I held out for the sake of my family and friends, rather than just focus on the final outcome. I think it is amazing sometimes that I have survived so long.

I always remind myself that not all Christians are narrow-minded bigots. I've known Christians who really do endeavor to live up to Christ's all-inclusive love and leave judging up to God as their Bible demands.
