Turning 60 on December 2nd is important to me because I was told by my cardiac surgeon that I wouldn't make it to age 50 unless I reached a "normal weight." (Likewise making it to 50 was important.) At this time 34 years ago I was just blissfully enjoying my baby and relieved the pregnancy and labor were over. I think right about this time my friends came over and brought me some food. I was so sore I couldn't get up to let them in the door so I crawled over to open it. Didn't matter; I was still so happy. :)

I deeply appreciate the outpouring of birthday greetings and felt truly loved. I had a mellow and fun birthday (more celebrating to come) and got to talk to loved ones by phone (grandkids, yay!). Wound up with dinner from Chipotles and a killer episode of Fringe, one of the best ever. (Great show to catch up on via Netflix.) ♥

We had my in laws over this evening to celebrate my mother in law's 56th birthday. Her name is Judy and she's an absolute sweetheart! She's the complete antithesis of the stereotypical interfering mother in law. On my forum we always have a Happy Birthday topic and I'd quite forgotten that they'd have one for me. My friends say the sweetest things, and posted the most beautiful pictures.

As I'm sitting here all stiff and sore from moving, they brought tears to my eyes yet simultaneously cheered me up.

I am so blessed to know them!
