Struggle With Kaiser Continues
We faxed in my request for an Independent Medical Review to the state of California's Department of Managed Health Care. (In regard to Kaiser's denial of my request for weekly individual therapy rather than the many groups they offer.) The office receives our request, gets records from Kaiser, makes their recommendation and then it goes out to a third party firm to investigate who has no connection or bias to any of the parties involved. The nurse who called said lately there have been some issues with Kaiser that she can't talk about so there is a fair chance that I'll win and that a high percentage of denial letters like the one I got from Kaiser get overturned.
