My grandsons moved in with us today. My daughter was staying with us while trying to raise funds to get an apartment, and the boys were with their father. But then he started talking about sending them to Mexico to be raised by his mother. When my daughter wouldn't sign the papers to give custody over to her and give permission to take them across

I wish you the best with this difficult arrangement. I fully understand your worry over the boys being illegally removed from the country! I am hoping the father was just blowing smoke because he didn't want to be responsible for his sons and has no real intent to abduct them. I understand the extra stress--even with my fully grown son home in the same house, the stress levels were a-climbin' and the expense of creating his own space in the poorly done workshop was not an aid. It was important, however, especially since on visitation weekends ashis daughter thought it more a visit to "Grandma" than it was to "Daddy"....so now he has "Daddy's House." I hope your daughter is able to get a small place soon and everyone can have some peace and personal space.

Yeah, we are filled beyond capacity in this small two bedroom apartment. My daughter has resisted welfare all this time but now she's finally getting her nerve up to go apply tomorrow. I've really run up debt trying to help her out as well as support myself while not working. I'm maxed out on what I can offer. And I'm burned out on the lack of privacy.

I'm glad your son has his own space now too. I'm sure that will make a big difference!
